The Last and First Sunday
The Last and First Sunday, 2020
December 27th was the last Sunday of 2020 and as always the Church of the Advocate/Red Door Ministry was in prayer, preparation and serving a hot meal and essential supplies to all those in need.
December 27th was also the first Sunday that we joyously welcomed Chef Eric. Chef Eric has been cooking for over 20 years and is a godsend to the Red Door! Along with his culinary experience he comes to COA as an advocate for the fundamental place that food and hospitality have in community life. Chef Eric has the experience of a professional chef and the heart of serving with LOVE. This past Sunday our team prepared their hearts, the meal and the supplies that meet the needs of our Asheville homeless congregation.
Thanks to all our supporters that continue, since 1997 and join with us to welcome and nourish the Asheville community.
First things first: we start with homemade pancakes
made by Chef Eric followed by Holy Communion.
Pack the meals, ready the water and do the dishes.
Sort the donations and get them ready to distribute.
